🏆 What Is the Club Championships?
Our Club Champs is a super friendly and supportive competition, designed to give gymnasts a positive introduction to performing in a competition-style environment. The competition is for gymnasts in Year 2 and above. Younger gymnasts will not be judged but will take part in a competition style display during their normal class times instead.
Gymnasts will compete against others in the same school year group and will perform on all apparatus relevant for their class. The routines are designed so that everyone can take part, with opportunities to include bonus skills to showcase their individual strengths.
All gymnasts will receive a participation certificate for taking part while medals will be awarded for top performers. Some year groups may be quite large, so not everyone will receive a medal or placing. However, our main goal is for every gymnast to enjoy the experience, challenge themselves, and feel proud of their hard work.
Taking part in competitions helps gymnasts learn how to perform skills and routines under pressure, develop focus and resilience, support their teammates, and demonstrate great sportsmanship.
📅 When is it?
- Trampolining club championships are running during the usual class times, from 23/02-28/02. Parents are invited up to watch
- General gymnastics display week for younger gymnasts (and watch week) will be from 16/03-21/03.
- General gymnastics club champs is on 22/03. There will be a £2 door fee for spectators
- Advanced club champs is 29/03. There will be a £2 door fee for spectators
Following the event, our coaching team will also use what we observe to help identify gymnasts who may be ready in the future for progression into our 2-hour Intermediate, 4-hour Advanced, or Squad programmes (where spaces are available). The top performers from the trampolining championships will be invited to a "finals" competition.
