FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sign my child up?
Use this link here to sign your child up. Select the class you are interested in and then select either "trial" or "monthly" option. A trial costs £10 and gives you the chance to try the class before committing. Some classes will be full so if you are interested in that class you will need to join the waiting list. Please note that a direct debit form needs to be completed to sign up to the waiting list, but you won't be charged until your child has a place.
What should my child wear to their sessions?
A leotard isn’t compulsory; if your child does not own one then they can attend the session wearing comfortable clothing that doesn’t restrict their movement. Shorts or leggings and a tucked in t-shirt are suitable for all general classes. For trampolining, your child will also need to wear socks.
Crop tops and hooded tops are not allowed. Hair should be tied back and all jewellery removed (or taped if removal is not possible)
Does my child need food and drink?
Please make sure your child brings a named water bottle to their session so they can stay hydrated. We have a water fountain so they can refill bottles if needed. For 2 hour sessions or less, your child will not need food, but for longer sessions, snacks can be provided. See British Gymnastic's nutrition good practice guide here
Does my child need insurance?
Yes, you will need to purchase a British Gymnastics membership for your child to be able to attend a regular class and be covered by insurance. For gymnasts in any of our recreational classes, a Community Membership is required. For those competing your coach will advise you on the most suitable membership. For our drop in sessions, no British Gymnastics membership is required.
